A night away from home...

So, Melody asked me kind of last minute to go with her to her church's ladies retreat at the Waterford Hotel this weekend (Friday-Saturday). I mentioned it to Matt, but didn't think it would work out. I am the one who feeds Isabelle and I haven't been away from her for more than a couple of hours since her accident... But, Matt said, "sure, go, just tell me what I need to do." I did, and he did. Isabelle did just fine without me (although I think she was really ready for me to get home on Saturday). The kids pitched in and helped keep her entertained and happy.
The ladies retreat was fun. The speaker was Niki Nowell (www.nikinowell.blogspot.com) and she did a great job talking about "beauty."
Melody and I made a late night trip to get some snacks (baked chips because Melody is so good!) and then we got on our suits and went for a midnight swim. It was great, but really cold getting out. We got a couple of hours of sleep.
It was renewing. I can't say it was restful, because we didn't sleep much... but, it was like getting a recharge to get away.
I came home and worked with Isabelle, she ended up taking a really long nap. Emelia and I cooked dinner (breshetta style chicken casserole, scalloped potatoes (homemade, not the box kind), and pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. YUM. Amanda went to hear Julie Andrews speak with Melissa and we all went to bed early. It was a good weekend! I found out that Emelia loves to cook!
That's all for now, it's time for Izzy's therapy program.

"The truth is, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father. Yes, ask anything in my name, and I will do it! John 14:12-14 NLT

Sounds like you had a great time at the retreat! Jody said he saw you - he was at the Waterford to do some work.
Levi's teacher is Mrs Dunaway. It was a lot of fun going to Grandparent's Day. This was my first one. I've never gone to Blake's (haven't really been invited!) I have gone and had lunch at school with him a couple of times. It's really great to share school experiences with the Grandkids. Levi was really excited - and Addy was equally excited for Jody to go to her school in Norman for Grandparent's Day. He said she had a great time!
Thank you for praying for my Mom. It is hard that she doesn't always recognize me now! I can't even imagine what it would be like for your baby not to recognize you. I mean, as a parent gets older, you expect that there will be changes in their memory - although I have not been well prepared for what we're going through now. You do such a great job with Izzy and I know it must be a great relief that Matt is willing and able to take over caring for Izzy to give you a little time to rest.
I continue to lift Izzy and your family up in prayer. I know that you must be seeing changes daily!

It was so good to have you at the retreat. I'm really glad you got to come. It was nice to meet you. You have a wonderful friend in Melody. She is a beautiful woman with the sweetest spirit. Hopefully I'll get to see you again and talk with you more. You sound like an amazing and strong woman.

Much love,
Natalie

I'm so glad you were able to get away for a retreat, what a blessing from the Lord. I know that times that I've been able to get refreshed help me to comeback full of fresh hope.

Thank you for your continued prayers for Luke, I will never stop praying for Izzy until I hear that she is completely healed from head to toe. We are both so blessed to believe in a healing touch from God, I don't know how all those parents can go on without the help of Jesus' strength to get them through their days.

I would enjoy talking with you on the phone if you ever have a free minute, just e-mail me your phone number at howslukedoing@yahoo.com if you are interested in visiting.

Love in Christ,
Sue
