It's Over...

Whew... what a day. I am so glad that is behind us, particularly Iz.

We arrived at Deaconess Hospital early this morning and they took Izzy in the room to prepare her for the surgery about 9:00 a.m. They were so sweet to her, they put a warmed blanket on her and gave her a pink bunny puppet. She acted very calm and relaxed as they wheeled her to the surgery room. The dentist was very sweet and let us know as soon as he was finished.

The worst part of the day was coming into the recovery area to see her afterwards. She was crying so much it was heartbreaking. Her little mouth was so swollen and her eyes were as well. She was scared and coming out of the anesthesia. I finally maneuvered around the IV and monitors to hold her and after an hour of crying she was finally ready to head home. We put her Dora DVD on for the ride home and she was pretty calm.

I waited about an hour to try to feed her anything and she was hungry. Her little mouth looks so odd to me now, without her front teeth. She looks like a snaggletooth, it will be cuter when the swelling goes down. Of course she is always precious and beautiful to me... with or without swelling :) .

This is the pic Matt took on the way home with my

phone camera.

Kind of blurry but you get the idea...

Thanks to everyone who prayed for her. One comment the dentist said was how amazingly she did with the whole thing and that he could tell she was incredibly healthy. She is. I praise God daily for her good health. She is on a very nutritional diet too, along with JuicePlus nutritional products. She is the healthiest of all our children.

I'm so glad things went well. The picture does show the swelling, doesn't it? I will continue to pray that Izzy doesn't have a lot of pain and that the swelling goes down quickly. What a huge hurdle to get over and be done with! I'm so thankful that Izzy is on JuicePlus as well. I've been talking to Candace (of course, I talk to everyone I care about) to get the boys on JuicePlus and she has finally started! I'm so excited. This is a product I totally believe in, as you know, and I also know in my heart that JuicePlus is a great addition to any nutritional program. I think the main reason I believe in it so strongly is because it is whole food which God put on this earth - not a man-made supplement! Anyway, that's my spill for the day! I thought about Izzy and about you today and knew that God would be with you during all of it! God is so good!

Did Izzy get her hair cut or is it just the picture that makes it look shorter? She has such pretty hair.

Thanks Ann!
No, she didn't get her hair cut. It was up in a ponytail/bun, and messy from the whole procedure. It is so long, I think that shows most in the bath picture. Matt thinks I should cut it again, but it is so pretty :)

Praise God for His blessings! I'm so glad to hear that all went well for Izzy's surgery. I prayed through out the day for both her and you, that God's peace would fall mightily upon you as you were at the Hospital. I bet Izzy looks a lot older now that she has teeth missing, I know that when my children lose their first teeth they look so much older to me.

I still have not received any e-mails from you, what a mystery?

Love in Christ,
Sue

I'm glad she did so well!
Ariel had to have oral surgery to have 2 teeth pulled about a year ago. She didn't come out of the anestesia very well, so I was just letting her sleep it off in my bed where I could lay with her. I went out into the living room for a minute, heard a noise, and turned around in time to see her go head first into the wall!! Scared the crap outta me...didn't hurt her though, and luckily she doesn't remember it :-)
Darn kids, always pulling on our heart strings ;-)

I'm so glad to hear that it went well! Her poor little mouth. I'm a few days behind, but wanted to see how she was.

Praise Be!
